2020年“短视频+直播”的电商新态势异常火爆。浙江义乌，这里没有顶流的网红明星，却因“9.9元，包邮到家”的报价模式一时间吸引了无数草根底层，也被誉为“草根逆袭的天堂”。 “不仅带您走进品的源头，更要通过品带您走进中国小人物精神世界的源头”——源头哥。源头哥是一位在义乌拍摄短视频带货的“草根导演”。与义乌当地主流的“9.9元，包邮到家”短视频风格不同，他怀揣着成为“中国抖音届周星驰”的梦想, 立志要通过短视频展现中国小人物的精神世界。 然而，随着时间推移，理想的蓝图在资本的大肆入侵下几近渺茫。彷徨之下，他重启了一条寻觅之路。在精神追求与爆单变现的徘徊之中，他究竟该何去何从？

导演介绍：

杨皓，纪录片导演，高校青年教师。导演纪录长片《义乌闯客》曾获FIRST青年电影展最佳纪录长片；纪录短片《野生导演》曾获中国纪录片学院奖、北京大学生电影节最佳纪录片、入围第五届西湖国际纪录片大会“IDF学院”等十余项；联合导演系列纪录片《现代相亲故事》，主创作品受邀在全国50余所高校放映。

About the documentary

In 2020, the new e-commerce trend of “short videos + livestreaming” exploded in popularity. Yiwu, Zhejiang, may not have top-tier internet celebrities, but its “9.9 yuan with free nationwide shipping” model has for a time attracted countless grassroots sellers and was hailed as a “paradise for underdogs to rise.” Yuantouge is a “grassroots director” in Yiwu who shoots short videos to promote products. Unlike the local mainstream style of “9.9 yuan with free shipping” short clips, he carries the dream of becoming the “Stephen Chow of Douyin” in China, determined to showcase the spiritual world of ordinary Chinese people through short videos. However, as time goes, personal ideals and visions grew increasingly elusive in reality: the team disbanded, investors withdrew, controversies mounted, and ridicule followed... Torn between spiritual pursuit and the pressure of commercial success, where will he go?

Director: YANG Hao

Yang Hao, documentary filmmaker and young university lecturer. His feature documentary Long Live the Soul won Best Documentary Feature at the FIRST International Film Festival 2022. His short documentary Fanatical Monologue received the China Documentary Academy Award, Best Documentary at the Beijing College Student Film Festival, and was shortlisted for more than ten awards including the 5th West Lake International Documentary Festival “IDF Academy.” He also co-directed the documentary series Modern Matchmaking, and his works have been screened at over 50 universities across China.
