影片介绍：

上世纪九十年代开始，来自缅甸、越南、柬埔寨等东南亚国家的外来新娘经人介绍或被诱骗至中国内地，沦为了生育工具。影片中的女主角Larry出生在缅甸北部，小时候上山砍柴摔断了腿，没钱医治，落下残疾。在十五六岁的时候，跟随姨妈到了中国北方，嫁给了一个比她大很多的男人，和这个男人过了十几年，生了两个孩子。这期间拉瑞曾离家出走，和一个年轻男性结婚生了一个女孩。

炎炎夏日到了，拉瑞回到缅北老家。

导演介绍：

王秀岳，导演，摄影师。现工作生活在上海，任教于上海电影学院。艺术活动涉及纪录片与动画创作、现当代架上绘画等。主要作品：纪录长片《别墅村民》（2010），动画纪录短片《城市村民》（2012）《生生不息》（2018年），《缅北高地来的女人》（2022）等。

《缅北高地来的女人》获得2022年印度电影节最佳导演奖，欧洲独立电影节最佳纪录长片，东欧独立电影节最佳纪录片荣誉提及等多个奖项！影片还入围了第十一届洛杉矶“女性之声”电影节；瑞士国际电影节；葡萄牙国际电影节；日本塞尔维亚电影节；第九届班布然国际电影节(9th Pambujan International Film Festival）；西班牙巴塞罗那独立电影节；墨西哥国际独立电影节(STUFF MX)；第十届耶拉派特拉纪录片电影节(10th International Documentary Festival of Ierapetra Awards)；2022 ARFF 柏林国际电影奖(7)等十几个国家举办的电影节！

About the documentary「The Woman from Myanmar」

Larry was born in the mountainous region of northern Myanmar. When she was young, she injured her leg while helping to cut firewood on the mountain. Due to a lack of money for medical treatment, she became crippled. At the age of fifteen or sixteen, Larry followed her aunt to northern China and married a much older man named Cao Haijiang. She spent over a decade with Cao Haijiang and they had two children together. However, during this time, Larry ran away from home and married a young man, with whom she had a daughter.

When summer arrived, Larry returned to her hometown in northern Myanmar.

Director: Wang Xiuyue

Wang Xiuyue, the director of The Woman from Myanmar, currently teaches at the Shanghai Film Academy. His artistic endeavors span across various mediums, including photography, documentary and animation films, digital media art, as well as modern and contemporary easel painting. Some of his notable works include the feature documentaries City Village (2010), From Generation to Generation (2018), and The Woman from Myanmar (2022). Additionally, he has also directed the animated short film City Villagers (2012).

The Woman from Myanmar has won multiple awards, including the Best Director at the 2022 India Film Festival, Best Feature Documentary at the European Independent Film Festival, and Honorable Mention for Best Documentary at the Eastern Europe Independent Film Festival! The film has also been selected for various film festivals worldwide, including the 11th Los Angeles The Women’s Voices Now Film Festival, Swiss International Film Festival, Portugal International Film Festival, JSFF-Japanese Serbian Film Festival, 9th Pambujan International Film Festival, Barcelona Indie Filmmakers Festival, Mexico International Independent Film Festival, 10th International Documentary Festival of Ierapetra Awards, 2022 ARFF Berlin International Film Awards, and Best Documentary Honorable Mention at the Cambodia International Film Festival, among many others!

Notably, the film has also been shortlisted for the third "Ten Recommended Films" by prominent film critic, Zhang Xianmin.
